A LETTER TO AGLO

June 12, 2016

Today, Americans across the country woke to learn of the heinous act of terror which occured this morning in Orlando. A lone gunman shot and killed 49 people and injured 53 more inside a GLBT nightclub. In response, people across the country gathered together for moments of silence and in sincere prayer for everyone affected by this shooting. So too, in Chicago's GLBT community, people gathered on North Clark Street and on North Halsted Street for public memorials, while still more people gathered on Belmont Avenue with AGLOChicago to pray.

Before our Mass began, we were greeted with a letter sent to us from Archbishop Blase J. Cupich expressing his personal pledge of prayers for us.
