WALKING TOGETHER THROUGH AGLO’s SYNODAL JOURNEY
Preparing for this journey
Preparation is an important part of the Synodal Process – it helps discern how the Holy Spirit is working in you and in the Church. Regardless of which path you choose below, we encourage you to reflect on the three themes of the Synod – communion, participation, mission – by praying with this preparatory document. This guide provides a scriptural reading and questions that guide you through an Ignatian reflection/contemplation process. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding the preparatory process. Email us: synod@aglochicago.org
Three Options :: Which path to take?
1) Self-Guided Option
You may have already thought about how you might respond to the questions and prepared what you want to write. The Archdiocese of Chicago portal offers a form through which it is encouraging input.
Please note: This form requires a name and an email address; responses are due April 1.
2) AGLO-Guided Option
In this second path, AGLO is providing a way for you to offer input, either anonymously or with your name, through our own form. Responses will be summarized without identifying information as part of our report. The form is a series of questions or prompts you can answer.
Responses are due by March 25.
3) AGLOChicago Listening Session Option
The final path we are offering is based on a tradition called Ignatian Spiritual Conversations. AGLO will be offering two listening sessions online via the Zoom video conferencing service. Each session will be approximately two (2) hours long and involve participation through listening, reflection and dialog in a small facilitated group format.
The sessions will be held on Sunday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 22.
